A biochemical analyzer is a system that employs various electrochemical and optical techniques to analyze and detect biological samples. This system comprises an optical engine, sample movement/flow control, automated control and processing, power management, and environmental monitoring and control (temperature, pressure, humidity). To enhance efficiency, biochemical analyzers available in the market are highly automated.

Biochemical analysis instrument systems utilize ARM and FPGA multiprocessor structures to achieve photonic signal acquisition, dual-channel multiplexing, A/D conversion, and more. Within this system, multiplexing switches are used to simplify the circuit structure and achieve signal filtering and amplification. Voltage signals, post-filtering and amplification, are processed and transmitted by high-performance processors integrated with precision ADCs, thus improving the integration and stability of the acquisition system. This article recommends the use of the domestically produced 16-channel 24-bit analog-to-digital converter, SC1642, for biochemical analyzers.

SC1642JDMUMY QFN-48.jpg The SC1642 is a 16-channel (multiplexed), low-noise, 24-bit delta-sigma (Δ-Σ) analog-to-digital converter capable of stable data acquisition at channel scanning rates (SPS) ranging from 1.8k to 23.7k in channel polling mode. This ADC offers outstanding advantages in practical applications, as outlined below:

  1. Fixed channel or channel polling mode with a fixed channel data rate of 125kSPS.
  2. Features 16 single-ended or 8 differential inputs, operates at a unipolar (+5V) supply.
  3. Low noise: 2.8uVRMS at 1.8kSPS.
  4. Integral non-linearity of 0.0003%.
  5. Offset drift of 0.02μV/C and gain drift of 0.4ppm/C.
  6. Low power consumption of 42mW, supporting standby, sleep, and shutdown modes.
  7. QFN-48 package, 7mm×7mm, meeting small package production requirements.
  8. Operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C, suitable for a wide range of applications.
