The CP82C55AZ is a programmable peripheral interface device that is typically used in microprocessor-based systems. These timers can be operated in three different modes: mode 0 (free running counter), mode 1 (rate generator), and mode 2 (square wave generator).The CP82C55AZ also includes a control register that allows the user to configure the operation of the device, such as setting the mode of the timers, enabling or disabling interrupts, and selecting the operating mode of the I/O ports.
